Guidelines for Valuers
1. Valuators must report to the valuation centre with a copy of the
appointment letter or e-mail sent by Registrar (Evaluation).
2. Valuators must sign an undertaking, once for each subject assigned to
them for valuation, in the prescribed format declaring their expertise and
experience before allocation of answer books for valuation.
3. All valuators must record their entry and departure times in the attendance
register maintained at the valuation centre.
4. A valuators must value answer books of only one subject at a given point of
time and at only one valuation centre on a given day. Once a valuator
begins valuation of answer books of an allotted subject, he/she must
complete it within a reasonable duration and not keep it pending leading to
delay in completion of valuation. In case of emergency, where the
valuator has to leave the valuation centre, he shall report the matter to
the custodian along with the details of the scripts allotted and valued.
5. A valuators can reject/return an answer script (by specifying the reasons
for rejection) and convey the same to the custodian if

Student has revealed his / her identity, can refer for MPC by using
MPC option in software.
If answers are not matching with the question paper /change of
subjects/subject being the same and error in subject code.
6. Answer books will be allotted to valuators for valuation by the custodian of
the valuation centre.
7. Valuators must bring scheme of valuation and submit to the Reviewer or
Custodian.
8. In case where the number of valuators required valuing a subject is more
than five, there will be a Reviewer. Reviewer shall conduct an initial meeting
before starting of valuation by the valuators to discuss scheme of valuation
and issues related to maintaining uniformity amongst different valuators.
All valuators must attend this initial meeting convened by the Reviewer. In
case a valuator is unable to attend this initial meeting, he/she shall read
the minutes of the meeting and sign it before commencing with the
valuation.
9. Valuators must get their evaluated answer books reviewed by the Reviewer
assigned to them, frequently in the beginning of valuation and at regular
intervals as valuation progresses. This is important to ensure uniformity of
valuation.
10. At least four scripts out of every 20 scripts valued by a valuer must be
reviewed by a Reviewer.
11. After review process is complete, marks sheet can be printed and must be
signed by the valuator and the Reviewer.
12. Use of cell phones, listening to music, having snacks and beverages within
the valuation hall or any activity that disturbs other valuators are not
permitted.
13. Do not carry pen drives or other electronic devices. Answer books are
confidential and no copies can be taken outside the valuation centre.
14. On the first day of valuation of a subject, a valuator can value 20 answer
books and discuss regarding scheme of valuation and other valuation work.
Further, 40 booklets for subsequent days of valuation. Digital valuation
software enforces a time limit of minimum 5 minutes per script, and the
time taken to complete valuation of each answer book is recorded by the
software.
15. Valuator must assign marks to every question and sub-question answered
by the student.
16. Payments will be made as per KSLU rules/regulations. In this regard you
are informed to enclose required documents along with your bill form.
17. In all matters pertaining to valuation at a given valuation centre, decision of
custodian is final and binding on all Valuator..
